History
Portland Industrial Laundry Pty Ltd (PIL) commenced trading in 1990, servicing industries in Portland Victoria with a managed garment and laundry service.
Through excellent quality planning, lots of energy by management and staff, PIL has obtained a strong presence in this market, which is indicated by it's financial performance.
Since the first customer was approached in 1990, PIL has grown from a small laundry into a thriving business, servicing more than three hundred customers including smelting, engineering, dairies and food processing plants (food-grade clothing), automotive, electrical, hospitality and other service industries:
In 1995, PIL started to service Alcoa of Australia at it's Portland Aluminium site at Portland, Victoria
In 2000, PIL started to service Alcoa of Australia at it's Point Henry site at Geelong, Victoria
In 2001, a new laundry in Yennora, Sydney, New South Wales was established to service industries in the greater Sydney region with workwear
In 2003, a new laundry in Mount Isa, Queensland was established initially to service Mount Isa Mines Limited
In 2008, PIL acquired Townsville Laundries (incorporating Glamour Dry Cleaning), expanding it's business to include flatwork.
